Funeral services for Kimberly Morgan Smith, 21, of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Williston with the Reverends Tom Summers, Tom Baker and Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating; burial will be in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one-thirty p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent in Kimberly’s memory to the Barnwell County Animal Shelter, 57 Diamond Road, Barnwell, SC 29812 or to a church of one’s choice. Kimberly passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Born in Aiken, SC she was a daughter of Gloria Gramling Smith and the late Winchester Smith, IV. She was a member of the Williston United Methodist Church and attended Elko Baptist Church. She was a 2012 graduate of Williston-Elko High School, she played trumpet in the marching band and was active in school sports where she played volleyball, tennis and softball. Kimberly enjoyed the outdoors as hiking and canoeing with her friends were among her favorite activities; she also enjoyed mud bogging and listening to country music. She was a volunteer at the Barnwell County Animal Shelter, a member of the Barnwell County FFA and also was formerly a member of the ROTC at Clemson University for two years. She was attending Greenville Technical College and working at Jan-Pro in Clemson, SC.
Survivors include her mother, Gloria Gramling Smith of the home; sister, Lauren Smith Singer and her husband, Michael Chadwick Singer, LTJG of San Diego, CA; brothers, Zachary Neville, Tucker Neville; paternal grandfather, Winchester Smith, III; aunts, Anne Willis Smith, Laura Gramling (Randy) Carlson, Rosemary Gramling Dalton; uncles, Tim (Cathy) Smith; Andrew Copes (Kim) Gramling, III, Frank Elliott (Perineau) Gramling, John Sheriff (Donna) Gramling; Kim’s 1st cousins, Zac, Daniel, Maggie, Brian, Craig, Jason, Matt, Bret, Mary, Luke, Sara, Faith, Hope, Joy, Jack and Grace and her Pomeranian, Chanel. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mary Lott Smith; maternal grandparents, Andrew Copes Gramling and Frances Elliott Gramling, Jr. and her uncle, Steve Dalton.
