Frances “Sis” Crouch Kennedy died Saturday April 9, 2016. She was the widow of Col. David Hamilton Kennedy, USAF Retired and a daughter of the late Horace Johnston Crouch, Sr. and Inez Breazeale Crouch. She was born in Elko, SC on October 19, 1921.
She was a 1942 graduate of Winthrop College and president of the Student Government Association. For three years she was hostess of a residence hall at Winthrop. She taught in the public schools of Bamberg, Columbia, and Williston. She served on the board of the Barnwell County Museum and was a member of Williston Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughters Jean K. Killey (John Marshall Killey), Elizabeth K. Brooker (Beacham Owens Brooker), and Frances K. Bundy (Robert Jackson Bundy); grandsons Hamilton Killey and John Robert Killey; granddaughters Elizabeth Brooker and Grace Brooker; sister-in-law Bernice B. Crouch; and two nieces and three nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Jean Crouch Thurmond and brothers Col. Horace J. Crouch, Jr. and Dr. Robert D. Crouch, Sr. and sister-in-law Barbara C. Crouch.
A memorial service will be held at Williston Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at three-thirty p.m.
