Calvin Edward Crim

Calvin Edward “Ed” Crim, 84, of Springfield, SC passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 21st at Springfield United Methodist Church at 3pm with Rev. Dewitt Livingston officiating.
Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
Born in North, SC he was the son of the late Carl Everette Crim and Dessie Ree Tindal Crim. He retired from Savannah River Plant after 37 years where he worked in HP. He was a member of the Springfield United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the Ancient Free Masons. He was a corporal in the US Army having served during the Korean War. “Papa” was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed attending all home games with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Iva Dean Grice Crim; 3 daughters, Wanda Stokes of Bamberg, SC, Donna (Doug) Heatherly of Acworth, GA, and Dina (Dennis) Koopman of North Port, FL; a brother, Larry Crim of Sunset Beach, NC; seven grandchildren, Heather Stokes Kirby, Tripp Stokes, Karli Stokes, Kirsten Heatherly, Kaitlin Heatherly, Rushton Koopman, and Anabeth Koopman; and five great-grandchildren, Stokes Kirby, Tillman Kirby, Cambelle Kirby, Weston Stokes, and Emersyn Stokes.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Pruitt Health of Barnwell for their exemplary care and compassion shown during his stay.
