Graveside Funeral services for John Andrew Cobb, Jr., 72, of Williston, SC will be held two pm Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Williston Cemetery with the Reverend Floyd Dukes officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Barbara Porter and from one pm until one-forty pm at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Mr. Cobb passed away Sunday March 22, 2015.
Born in Pelzer, SC he was a son of the late John Andrew Cobb, Sr. and Margaret Tiggs Cobb. John worked for The Langston Company as an Industrial Construction Superintendent. He taught Vocational School in Mississippi for a period of time, was a Life time member of the VFW in Greenville, SC, a member of the Presbyterian Church in Pelzer and was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife Linda Porter Cobb of the home; son, Danny (Paulette) Bolen of Hilda; four grandchildren, Steven (Tristan) Bolen, Tony (Celia) Bolen, Matt (Susan) Bolen and Rebecca Bolen; five great-grandchildren, Jax, Dayton, Savannah, Madeline and Aubrey; sisters, Angie (Allen) Cox of Simpsonville, Phillis Simpson of Pelzer and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Cobb.
