Funeral services for Cyril Cullen Johnson, age 75, of Windsor, SC will be held seven p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC. The family will receive friends from five p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday. Graveside service will be held eleven a.m. Saturday, October 18th at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery near his parents. Cyril’s grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 857 Mt. Beulah Road, Windsor, SC 29856 or to a charity of one’s choice. Cyril died October 16, 2014 at GRU.
He was born June 6, 1939 at Windsor, SC, first child of the late Cullen R. and Beulah Coley Johnson. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, he worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 35 years, having retired in 1995. He enjoyed gardening, vegetable and flowers, his Santa Gertrudus cattle, and was a charter member of the Aiken-Barnwell Genealogy Society as was a Cemetery Survey Coordinator for his Society. He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Berlin Crisis.
He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Elspye Byars Johnson; daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” J. George (Jerry A.); son, Cyril Kevin Johnson (Donna Ivey); five grandchildren, Emalie Ivey Johnson, Cullen Kevin Johnson, Ryan Perry George, Aaron Samuel George and Marjorie Elspye George; a brother, Jeryl A. Johnson (Judie) and a sister, Belva Jean J. Keisler (Marrall deceased) and a number of nieces and nephews.
