Rusty loved people, and he made a difference in many lives. If you needed a pick-me-up, whether a good word or monetary, he was always there and willing to help. His heart was full of compassion. He loved God and felt closest to Him when spending time on the lake or in the mountains. Rusty was a great animal advocate and brought home many strays. Rusty loved being outdoors on the lake, driving his convertible, attending Clemson games and tailgating. He also enjoyed going to concerts, especially The Grateful Dead. He loved to cook almost as much as he loved to eat and was also a wine connoisseur. Rusty was a world traveler who never met a stranger and made friends all over the world.

He had so many amazing friends whom he loved dearly and who loved him in return.
Rusty was very close to his family who loved spending time with him on the lake. Whether you knew him as Rusty, Russman, Roscoe or Punk you knew you had a loyal friend.
