Funeral services for Donald Ray “Doc” Youngblood, Sr. 78, of Williston, SC will be held one p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Floyd Dukes officiating; burial will be in the Williston Cemetery with Masonic rites accorded. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Members of Hope Masonic Lodge # 126 will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hope Masonic Lodge # 126, P. O. Box 53, Williston, SC 29853. Donald passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014.
Born in Aiken County, he was a son of the late Cecil Youngblood and Inez Turner Youngblood. He was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church and Hope Masonic Lodge # 126. He retired from TDS formerly Williston Telephone Company having worked as an installer/repairman technician. He also worked at Plant Vogle, was a carpenter and was an avid hunter who raised and trained bird dogs for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Florine A. Youngblood; children, Donna (Scott) Augustine; Donald R. “Slick” (Hope) Youngblood, Jr., Carlton C. “Dab” (Shannon) Youngblood; Scott G. Allen, Linda Lucille Fleming, Brenda (John) Thomas, Dayton (Brenda) Allen, III, John (Sophie) Allen, Michael “Tony” (Pam) Cooper, Frederick W. “Ricky” (Fran) Cooper, Bonita (Gordon) Gray; sisters, Betty Ruth (Leon) Cushman, Phyllis (James M.) Crow; 30 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Y. Allen and a daughter, Cassie Allen.
