Maude Shull

July 29, 1917 – April 25, 2015

Funeral services for Maude Stork Shull, 97, of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Cindy Fuller officiating; burial will be in The Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williston United Methodist Church, 6030 Springfield Road, Williston, SC 29853 or the Williston Cemetery, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853. Mrs. Shull passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015.

Born in Columbia, SC she was the daughter of the late Robert Manning Stork and Maude Barnes Stork and was the widow of C. Broddus Shull. She graduated from Columbia College and taught school from 1940 – 1970 in Aiken and Barnwell Counties and then worked for the Department of Social Services until her retirement. She was a member of Williston United Methodist Church and in 1997 was Woman of the Year at the church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Magnolia Garden Club. She was a great conversationalist who had a strong love and devotion for her family and friends; everyone who visited enjoyed their time with her.

Survivors include daughters, Ann S. Hartzog of Lexington, Mary S. (William S.) Smith of Black Mountain, NC; Julia (William C.) Sitler of Williston; grandchildren, Morgan (Scott) Vorhees, Jeffrey S. Hartzog, Amy (Palmer) Stewart, Will (Katherine) Smith, Allen Smith, Sheldon Smith, Coley Smith, Connie (Drew) Martin and Keith Sitler; great grandchildren, Avery Martin, Easton Martin, Cecelia Stewart and Abigale Vorhees and special friends, Curtis (Georgia) Dicks. In addition to her husband, Broddus, she was preceded in death by her son, Broddus Keith Shull and brothers, Raymond and Robert Stork.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caretakers, Sara Dicks and Margie Bellinger.
