Helen Corder Keisler

December 24, 1923 – August 21, 2014   Helen Queen Corder Keisler, 90, of Williston, SC, died August 21, 2014. Helen was born in Greenville, SC and was a resident of Williston for 56 years. She was the wife of the late Rev. Len G. Corder, former pastor of Williston First Baptist Church, and the late Elvers Keisler of Williston. She is survived by her daughter, Alexia Clamp of Williston, son Len G. Corder, Jr. of Kingston, TN, son David W. Corder (Lynette) of Olar, and daughter Nan (Bill) Shank of Evans, GA. Helen was preceded in death by her son, John Paul Corder of Williston and son-in-law Alex T. Clamp. She is also survived by her step-children Betty Faye (Billy) Bolen, Shirley (Buzz) Lewis, Belva Jean Keisler, and Robert Keisler. Helen had 10 grandchildren including Craig (Kathy) Clamp, Calvin (Gail) Clamp, Lee (Leisa) Clamp, Len (Nicole) Clamp, Luke (Alecia) Clamp, David and Anderson Corder, Tommy Chambers, and Matthew and Ashley Shank. Helen also had 13 great-grandchildren including Blake (Emily), Kelsey, Cameron, Katie, Caden, Connor, Corder, Ian, Alex, Grayson, and Ethan Clamp; and Rokeem Williams. Helen leaves behind a legacy of life, love, and laughter. Helen was a lively conversationalist and a talented artist. She possessed a beautiful singing voice, lit up a room with her radiant smile, and had a contagious sense of humor. Helen was known for her generous spirit and her desire to take others “under her wing”. Many young people were mentored and loved through her guidance and encouragement. Her life was lived as a bold witness for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and she was a dedicated prayer warrior. Helen’s wit, stories, songs, poems, and harmonica lessons will be missed by all of her children and grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Elko Baptist Church on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11 am with burial in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Because Helen had a passion for missions, memorials may be made to the Elko Baptist Church, P.O. Box 277, Elko, SC 29826 and designated to fund summer collegiate missionaries or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
