Don Lewis

Funeral Services for Hubert Donald “Don” Lewis, 83, of Springfield, SC will be held two pm Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Springfield with the Reverends Henry Cooper and Jared Pemper officiating. Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight pm Saturday at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church P.O. Box 368 Springfield, SC 29146. Mr. Lewis passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014.
Born in Valdosta, GA he was a son of the late Wiley F. Lewis Jr. and Annie Lou Folsom Lewis and was married to the late Doris Elaine Crim Lewis. Don was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean War, was owner and operator of Lewis Barber shop in Springfield for 60 years and retired from the town of Blackville as supervisor after 20 years of service .He was currently serving as water and waste water operator for several towns around the community. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield, Dean Swamp Masonic Lodge # 172 and the Water and Environment Association of South Carolina Lower Savannah District.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila E. Lewis and Karen D. Lewis both of Springfield; sister, Velma Brannon; brothers, Wiley F. (Mickey) Lewis III and David (Betty Jean) Lewis; sisters-in-law, Betty and Earleen; three grand-dogs: Teddy, Echo and Izzy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Edgar Lewis.
