A Celebration of Life service for Goldie Pearl Adkins Frederick, 93, of Williston will be held three p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston with Eastern Star Rites accorded; the Reverend Dan Fogle will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210-1790. Goldie passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
Born in Gary, IN she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Lula Butz. She was married to the late George F. Frederick and was the widow of James “Jim” Adams. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church and the Ackerman Chapter # 198 Order of the Eastern Star. During World War II she worked in the Ford Factories making tanks and was a known member of Rosie the Riveters. She retired from Williston Manufacturing Company, worked at Smith’s Drug Store and was an accomplished seamstress.
Survivors include a son, Albert “Don” (Charlotte) Frederick of Summerton; granddaughter, Dena Marie Frederick; cousin, Wanda Bell (Rodney) Matthews and several other cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Long, Ruby Kuboche; brothers, Earl, Johnnie and Delmar Adkins.
